i’ve been meaning to make a page of this band for a while
The Splendid states themselves as a “hip hop inspired indie rock band” formed in late 2017 in Tokyo. Their musical influences mainly come from modern indie rock but the singer SAKU sometimes engages in singing rap styles like Alex Turner from Arctic Monkeys which makes the sound unique. Their songs themes mainly derive from frustration against Japanese society, which might be interesting for people who don’t live in Japan. Their main goal is to find success worldwide and their wild ambition is to play at Reading/Leeds festival in England as an Japanese band. So far they released an EP and 3 singles and this year they’re planning to release an Album.
