Chosen as Ending Theme Song for Hit Drama Series Wingman!

Nowlu, a singer renowned for her unique husky voice and praised for its deep, mysterious low tones and dark, transparent quality, made a significant impact on streaming platforms, particularly in North America, with her second single “Stuck on You,” which has been streamed over 9.8 million times worldwide since its release in 2022. After a one year and ten month hiatus, her newest single, “Yoin,” was released today.
This song has been chosen as the ending theme for Wingman, which has been making waves since the first episode aired, even trending at number one on X in Japan.
Wingman is based on Masakazu Katsura’s manga of the same name, which was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1983. To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Wingman, it has now been adapted into a live-action drama.
The track features a heavy beat and bass, capturing the nostalgic sound of ’80s and ’90s R&B, paired with Nowlu’s signature smoky, undulating voice, reflecting the historical context of the original work.
The lyrics, which express the lingering emotions of the protagonist Aoi, balance respect for the original manga with Nowlu’s personal style, enhancing the sense of immersion. Following the success of “Stuck on You,” which resonated with Neo City Pop listeners and international fans, “Yoin” surpasses it as the perfect track to accompany the drama.
