“Sarigiwa no Romantics” Chosen as Ending Theme Song for Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom

It has been announced that the ending theme for Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom, which will be released in theaters in Japan on January 26, 2024, will be See-Saw’s “Sarigiwa no Romantics.” See-Saw is a unit consisting of Chiaki Ishikawa on vocals and Yuki Kajiura on the keyboard.

Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom official website

https://www.gundam-seed.net/freedom/

See-Saw was responsible for two previous theme songs in the Mobile Suit Gundam SEED series: “Anna ni Issho Datta no ni” from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED (2002) and “Kimi wa Boku ni Niteiru” from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY (2004). This marks their third project in the series, with approximately 19 years having passed since their last involvement.

Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom is set in the C.E. (Cosmic Era) and continues the narrative from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED and Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY, depicting the ongoing conflict between original “Natural” humans and the genetically modified “Coordinators.” This latest installment features a completely new story that takes place in C.E. 75 following the events of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY.

Furthermore, it has been confirmed that “Sarigiwa no Romantics” will be released as a single on January 24, 2024. This single will also include a recording of the surprise performance of “Anna ni Issho Datta no ni” at InuFes 2019, the 10th-anniversary celebration of FlyingDog.

In commemoration of this, the live video of “Anna ni Issho Datta no ni” performed at InuFes will be available for a limited time starting today.

Migi to Dali is a tale of mischievous children by Nami Sano, who is known for the 2016 anime adaptation of Sakamoto Desu ga? This surreal comedy-suspense mystery revolves around two twin brothers, Migi and Dali, who live as a single boy and are working together to uncover the truth behind their mother’s death.

The music for this anime was created by Hiroko Sebu, who has produced music for numerous works including I Want To Eat Your Pancreas. In the original soundtrack, Hiroko Sebu masterfully captures the delicate balance between comedy and suspense, immersing viewers into the story with tension and realism through a total of 35 tracks. The soundtrack also includes the TV-size versions of opening theme song (“Yuumagadoki” by Soraru and Rib) and the ending theme song. You can hear some of the tracks in the main PV on YouTube, so please check it out.

The jacket illustration, released in conjunction with this announcement, was drawn by Ayumi Nishihata, who serves as the character designer and chief animation director for the anime. It features the twins Migi and Dali, dressed in tuxedos and conducting, making it a perfect fit for the original soundtrack.

With the TV anime series about to begin airing in October, we hope you will consider getting this item to fully enjoy the unique setting of the anime.

Hitsujibungaku’s new song “more than words” has been confirmed as the closing theme of the “Shibuya Incident” segment of the TV anime series “Jujutsu Kaisen”, which started airing Thursday, August 31.

The “Shibuya Incident” segment of the TV anime series “Jujutsu Kaisen” is a story of a massive battle of an unprecedented level between the Jujutsu Sorcerers, the Curse Users, and the Cursed Spirits, set in the Shibuya Station area bustling on Halloween.

The airing starts on Thursday, August 31, from 23:56 JST on 28 MBS/TBS network stations nationwide.

[Comment from Moeka Shiotsuka / Hitsujibungaku]

“Upon taking on the closing theme, I read the comic version of “Jujutsu Kaisen” over and over again.

The making of this song was a tough one, but I was encouraged and given strength many times by the attitudes of characters such as Itadori. I think the song turned out to be something that empowers you to make one last step forward when you’re on the brink of loss. I am thankful for a challenging opportunity like this.”

The release of the full-length version of the new song “more than words” will coincide with the airing of the first episode of “Shibuya Incident”, followed by the release of the CD package on Wednesday, September 27.

The original anime Cowboy Bebop, directed by Shinichiro Watanabe, was broadcast on TV in 1998. Its stylish visuals left a profound impact on viewers, transcending the boundaries of anime and inspiring numerous fans. The anime TV series achieved immense popularity, not only domestically but also internationally. It was subsequently adapted into a theatrical version and even a live-action series on Netflix.
Notably, the music composed by Yoko Kanno, which accompanied the visuals, gained significant recognition. The soundtrack’s first volume, titled “COWBOY BEBOP,” included the iconic opening theme “Tank!” and achieved tremendous success. It was awarded the 13th Japan Gold Disc Award for Animation Album of the Year. The music’s versatility spanned genres from jazz, rock, and French pop to house music. Additionally, the renowned jazz engineer from Blue Note Records’ golden era, Rudy Van Gelder, contributed to the production, further elevating its reputation beyond the confines of anime music both domestically and internationally.
Now, an 11-disc box set, encompassing all 7 albums and maxi-singles of the Cowboy Bebop soundtrack, is set to be released on December 13, 2023. Encased in a deluxe box, each title’s jacket will sport its original design. The artwork, which received high praise at the time of the CD releases, will now come in LP size, a tantalizing prospect for collectors.
In addition, the following three titles newly selected and edited by Yoko Kanno will be released at the same time.

  • Tank! Gold COWBOY BEBOP (2 discs)
  • The Real Folk Blues Legends COWBOY BEBOP (2 discs)
  • Songs for the Cosmic Sofa COWBOY BEBOP (1 disc)

These three titles offer a fresh interpretation of Yoko Kanno’s work.
Furthermore, the soundtrack of the live-action Netflix series, previously only released on vinyl, will now be released on CD.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the TV broadcast of Cowboy Bebop, and various projects have been announced to commemorate the event. Among them, the release of these music products is sure to elevate the excitement for anime and music fans both in Japan and abroad.
